As part of a new tradition, the swim team has introduced color races to their yearly bonding activities. The team is divided into two groups—blue and white—where swimmers face off in non-traditional strokes and creative race formats. One of the most unique events features a two-person technique, with one swimmer kicking while the other does the arm strokes.

Junior Maria Bezerra, who has been swimming since she was three, is excited for this new tradition since they can use teamwork and collaboration to have fun.

“I’m proud to be on the swim team, go team blue!” said Bezerra

The purpose of this new tradition is to honor the hard work the swimmers have put into the season.
